Hey folks, there is a lot to be excited about in Ohio's 16th Congressional District - a seat held by the GOP for 58 years before John Boccieri's 2008 victory.  Two highly qualified candidates, Jim Renacci and Paul Schiffer, will be facing off in the May 4th GOP primary for the opportunity to challenge the freshman "Must Go" Congressman who voted for the Stimulus and Cap-and-Trade (in the Rust Belt state!!) bills.    MMX FLEX is impressed with both candidates but has not endorsed either at this time.  Here is some information about these two outstanding candidates:

Jim Renacci - Jim is pegged as a "Contender" by the NRCC in its "Young Guns" program, making him one fo the top 14 challenger candidates in the country.  He has decades of business experience, founded a successful management business, and has been a successful sports entrepreneur as an owner of the Arena Football League's Columbus Destroyers.  And most importantly, he spent the last four years as mayor of Wadsworth, Ohio (population 18,437).   Learn more about Renacci here.

Paul Schiffer - Paul is a passionately conservative ex-marine and veteran talk radio host who can be heard exclusively on RightTalk radio.  He is a leader in the Prolife movement in Ohio.  In an effort to show his commitment to "hit the ground running" when he reaches Washington, his team has already developed legislation to repeal the EPA global warming regulation calling carbon dioxide a "pollutant."  In April 2004, Schiffer played a key role in bringing together the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth.  And today he was endorsed by John O'Neill, the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth Leader.  Learn more about Schiffer here.

  1. Lets get all readers to write to PPP and see if they'll poll this race.

"Might also want to check out the other candidates including Matt mIller of Ashland who filed before either Mr. Renacci or Mr. Schiffer"

  3. I respect Mr. Schiffer's background, but he needs to give me something else other than he was a part of the Pro Life Movement or is a talk show host that "is considered one of the best interviewers in the business (according to his website)." What does that get me as a constituent in the Ohio 16th District? Mr. Schiffer, is portrayed as a radical right-winger, that will only add fuel to the partisan fire that we see at Washington D.C.

Same with Mr. Miller. I know he was a country chairman, but what skills does he bring to the table? Both Miller and Schiffer have been in the public life and have not done anything in the private sector. Doesn't that draw parallels to Congressman Boccieri's public record?

I am just getting to know and understand Mr. Renacci. Thanks MMX for the contact information.
